We are a family run team who run 2 Care-homes in the local area of Hessle and Cottingham. DEMA care has been operating for over 30 years and has a very good reputation in the local area and beyond. Bismor Care is a fairly new business of 3 years and is just starting to gain its well-deserved reputation. We pride ourselves on the high standard of our homes and in the outstanding care we provide on a daily basis. We are hands on owners who work within the homes and are very much involved in the day to day running.
Staffing
All our staff team in the home are permanent employees of the homes. We have a rigorous recruitment program. We always have sufficient numbers of suitable qualified, competent, skilled and experienced staff. We completed a dependency tool on a monthly basis which plans for the month ahead and we also reflect on this at the end of the month. We consistently have over the staffing hours for example this year in Feb +266 and March +344.
All our new staff members are buddied up with an experienced member of staff. We support our staff members to train with a local provider who comes in to the home and completes observational skills. Our team also enjoy the local authority mandatory training for example safeguarding, dementia or medication. All our seniors are minimum NVQ 3 qualified.
We not only complete the standard DBS check for all staff members but we also pay for the yearly update costs and continue to do this for as long as the staff member is employed by us.
As well as the usual carers and Senior’s we have a Care Manager on every shift who’s main responsibility is the care and well-being of the clients and is the face of contact for all family members, visiting professional.
We have a huge team of permanent ancillary staff from kitchen, housekeepers, maintenance, admin and activity coordinators who help run a fun and happy home.
