Palliative Care

End of life care – also know as palliative care- is the care of people with an illness where recovery is not expected.  We understand how difficult and emotional these situations are, which is why we aim to provide proactive and respectful care for clients and relatives.

Whilst we care for palliative care clients in both our Hessle and Cottingham home, Priory Care in Cottingham has a dedicated 8 bed palliative care unit which is connected to the home but has all its own facilities and is very much a standalone unit.  We can offer a space to any one over the age of 18 who is looking for a caring environment away from the usual hospices/hospital environment. Our dedicated team offer weekly complex care-planning, weekly meetings, specialised assistance from the local health teams.

Our unit has a separate lounge with kitchenette and decked area for our palliative care clients and they relatives. We have overnight sleeping facilities for relatives to stay as often as their like. We have an all-inclusive pricing scheme that includes hairdresser’s chiropodist, alcoholic beverages and snacks, daily papers/magazines for both the clients and client’s visitors.

Our individual styled rooms are very spacious, and all have profiling beds, matching wardrobes and draws and a bedside table. All have a vanity unit, a smart TV and WIFI available.  Some have en-suite facilities and/or large sofa beds, some have comfy arm chairs and coffee tables. ALL palliative care rooms have access straight into the pawned garden of the care home.
